DI-DEMICO
Open-Source Design Tools for High-Performance and Energy-Efficient Microchips in the Millimeter-Wave Range
DI-DEMICO develops open-source tools for the design of high-performance and energy-efficient microchips in the millimeter-wave range. These chips are essential for modern 5G/6G communication systems and high-frequency radar sensors.
Objectives and Approach
Future wireless technologies require expanded frequency bands to enable high bandwidths for short-range communication, edge systems, and sensing. The project develops design tools for millimeter-wave systems, targeting significant energy reduction, optimization of the entire design chain, and realization of two power amplifiers as demonstrators.
Innovations and Perspectives
An open-source design chain for millimeter-wave systems lowers barriers for researchers and companies alike. This approach accelerates circuit development and significantly boosts innovation capacity in high-frequency and communications technologies.
