DI-FEntwumS
Open-Source Design and Visualization Environment for Dynamically Reconfigurable Microchips
DI-FEntwumS develops an open-source design and visualization environment for dynamically reconfigurable microchips, enabling flexible adaptation of hardware to changing application requirements.
Objectives and Approach
The goal is to develop an intuitive and comprehensive open-source development environment for configurable logic devices (FPGAs). The project researches design tools with simulation and visualization capabilities, graphical circuit design functions, as well as an accelerator and design tool for efficient processing of AI algorithms.
Innovations and Perspectives
The open-source development environment promises broad impact by significantly simplifying the use of FPGAs. It enables especially smaller companies and start-ups to quickly translate their innovations into chip designs. The environment will be compatible with logic devices designed and manufactured in Germany.
