DI-ExViPaS
Open-Source Test and Analysis Tools for Improving the Security of Chip Architectures
DI-ExViPaS creates open-source test and analysis tools that identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in chip architectures, strengthening the trustworthiness of digital systems against hardware attacks.
Objectives and Approach
The project develops and tests a tool that reliably enables the extraction, visualization, and verification of security vulnerabilities in hardware architectures already in the early phase of chip design. An existing hardware analysis tool is extended and combined with an open-source security analysis tool for hardware architecture rule verification.
Innovations and Perspectives
The new design and testing tool has the potential to significantly improve chip trustworthiness and security through automated checking of known threat scenarios, while saving development time. It also contributes to expanding open-source toolchains and strengthening design competencies in professional training.
