DI-OWAS
Open-Source Design Tools for Flexible Chip Systems in AI and Cryptography
DI-OWAS provides open-source design tools for flexible chip systems optimized for AI inference and cryptography. Application flexibility and security are central requirements of modern digital infrastructure.
Objectives and Approach
The project establishes an open-source toolchain for developing reconfigurable circuits, with chip manufacturing in both open processes and 22-nm FDSOI technology. Two demonstrators in AI sensor fusion and cryptography comprehensively test the tools' functionality.
Innovations and Perspectives
Open-source design tools often face skepticism in industrial applications. The project addresses this through two demonstrators showcasing relevant industrial use cases, thereby building confidence in open-source design processes and opening new perspectives for their industrial deployment.
