Bavaria is recognized as one of Europe’s key regions for the semiconductor and microelectronics industry. In 2021, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs launched the Semiconductor Initiative to enhance the sector's resilience and competitiveness. With support from the Bavarian Chips Alliance, efforts continue to strengthen industry networks, foster collaboration, and position Bavaria’s semiconductor ecosystem effectively on the global stage.
The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs will host the fifth edition of the Bavarian Semiconductor Congress in 2026. The event brings together professionals from industry, research, and government to exchange insights on current challenges and future developments in semiconductors.
